She was simply stunning, a beautiful red Doberman who was even more beautiful on the inside.  Gretchen and her brother Ethan had been left at the shelter by their owner who didn’t want to keep them in her apartment any longer, even though they were perfectly behaved.  Being abandoned at the shelter and then separated from her brother devastated Gretchen, and she was emotionally shattered when we got her.  True to her breed, she was deeply sensitive and needed someone to love.  Gretchen went immediately to a foster home where she was showered with love.  Unfortunately Gretchen became seriously ill and we could not save her.  Our hearts are heavy with grief and her foster home is empty without her, but we want to honor her spirit by helping other Dobermans in need.  We know Gretchen is with King, Maxwell,  Wellington, Isabel and so many other wonderful dobes who have come into our lives, but we can’t help missing her.  By making a donation to the Gretchen Fund you will help us continue to save this wonderful and often misunderstood breed.
