Joy is a 3 yr old terrier who weighs about 35 pounds.  Her owners lost their home and when they brought her to the shelter, Joy went into a state of shock from being abandoned by the people she loved and would not come to the front of the cage, so people would walk by her and not even realize she was there. Finally she was rescued by a friend of ours.  Joy is GREAT with other dogs, small and large. She is very shy at first with people, but once she settles in she will follow you around, sit next to you, cuddle, play and show you love and affection. She needs a quiet environment without young children because their energy frightens her but she could be with one dog or a dozen and be very happy!  Once she knows she is safe she blossoms and learns to trust quickly. She LOVES to go on walks and will jump for joy and sit when you bring out the leash. Note:  JOY CANNOT BE AN ONLY DOG!!!
