Our Name

People ask us all the time, where did we get our name? It came from my own dogs. Oliver (pictured above) was all puppy energy, running here and there, jumping and playing then collapsing in an exhausted heap. One day I found him sprawled out on the floor, too tired to move after a long play session. He could barely lift his head, but nothing could keep him from wagging his tail. Thump thump thump... Then from the corner, my shy dog Sienna joined in. Thump thump thump... Since then my house has welcomed countless dogs, and of course friends, family and children. My home and my life are rich with love, but at the end of the day a sound that always makes me smile is the sound of happy tails thumping.

Hobbs spent the first year of his life neglected and abused by a family who didn’t love him because of his deformed front paw. His black hair was bleached red from being left out in the scorching sun. Finally they dumped him at the shelter to die - filthy and matted, terrified and sick with pneumonia. We nursed him back to health, and then we saw his amazing spirit and exuberant personality emerge. Hobbs loves to play, adores children and is now an adored member of a wonderful family.
