THE SEYMOUR FUND
SAVING SENIOR DOGS FROM THE SHELTER
We saw him on the shelter’s website, an adorable but sad old dachshund whose owners had left him there to die. We went straight to the shelter, wrapped him in a soft blanket and brought him home. We called him Seymour. Sure he was old, but so sweet and gentle and loving. Seymour asked for so little and gave so much. We learned that Seymour was seriously ill and a few months later we had to let him go. But even though it was for a short time, Seymour knew true love and he didn’t die alone in a shelter. THE SEYMOUR FUND was created in his honor, to care for senior dogs who need a place to call home. Some of these dogs were beloved pets whose owners have passed away or can no longer care for them. Others have lived their whole lives without being shown real love.
A donation to the Seymour Fund is used to rescue older dogs from the shelters and to provide the medical care they often require.
